From Uncanny Valley to Striking Looks
Both Uncanny Valley and Striking Looks essentially deal with morphs that are slightly "unusual"; the former, however, create a sense of revulsion, while the latter create a sense of wonder. I was wondering if it were possible (in particular in the case of the Remade, that have Uncanny Valley as a "standard" morph trait) to change the former into the latter through appropriately "artistic" biosculpting. Obviously by paying the appropriate costs in credits/favors/CPs etc. But the key here, is getting it done on an *existing* biomorph in relatively little time (of the order of days).

Re: From Uncanny Valley to Striking Looks
Although there do not seem to be any real rules for doing so, making some up while sticking closely to the rules as written would not really be that difficult. You can quite easily use the Credit Costs provided in the Morph Customisation (Page 277) to work out how much the procedure would cost. In the case of a Remade being changed to have Striking Looks I would have the player first buy off the Uncanny Valley trait by spending (10CP * 200 Credits/CP) 2000 Credits, and then buying whatever level of Striking Looks, say level 1, (10CP * 500 Credits/CP) 5000 Credits. So for the small price of 7000 Credits, I would be perfectly fine with letting a Remade be made a little less freaky. Its basically just Plastic Surgery, so I would probably only have it take a week or so of surgery + recovery time (Half if you have BioMods or can afford to be stuck inside a healing tank). If you wanted to start the game without the Uncanny Valley trait on a Remade I would not be against letting them simply buy it off with 10CP, but I would advise against it. Bit of a waste of 10CP for something that is probably going to be exploded in due time anyways. Note, the reason I would not use Rez Points to buy off the Uncanny Valley is because its a Morph Trait, and I think doing so would be a waste of character advancement potential. Rez Points should be for improving the Ego, not the Morph, at least in my games. Also I would not simply use Biosculpting implant because it is cheap as hell and a single Low purchase should not be able to remove something like the Uncanny Valley trait.

Re: From Uncanny Valley to Striking Looks
I see no reason for Uncanny Valley and Striking looks to be mutually exclusive, even if the game mathmatics could give that impression. That is to say both could be present on the morph. Giving a sense of wonder & revulsion. Besides the uncanny valley phenomena is felt in more ways than just "appearance", abnormal movement, for example.

how would you describe a morph that got both Striking Look and Uncanny Valley? something akin to a Veela, maybe, if I may borrow from the Potterlore

Solar angel have a good example, another example would be a morph that looks like its a cartoon or a painting, or something that's while standing still is quite attractive & striking -but that moves in a freakish manner. well, not enough freakish and unnatural to qualify-but some examples in the direction. hyperrealistic-acrylic-body paint http://www.mymodernmet.com/profiles/blogs/hyperrealistic-acrylic-body Ministry of Silly Walks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZlBUglE6Hc

Re: From Uncanny Valley to Striking Looks
Hmm, I agree that the two traits can coexist. However, my initial question was at least as much about whether it's possibile to lose Uncanny Valley as about acquiring Striking Looks. I'd just want a Remade that does not look creepy! Why can a Synth do so, and not a Remade?

Re: From Uncanny Valley to Striking Looks
In that case just take off the uncanny valley and pay an extra 10 cp of your remade. Balance wise a remade, as opposed to a synth allows you to go a lot further with your attributes making you pay less for your skills, in other words you may not excel at one thing but will do many things better. Because of your upper attribute limit of 40. So you end up paying more for the morph but essentially less for the skills. Also getting some fleshy bits tacked on to your synth doesn't exactly make you immune to clanking masses, but I believe it makes you pass off as a regular human until they find out that you're all metal underneath. If you're a flesh covered synth that walks into a store on Luna after getting shot in the head and look all terminator, you're gonna get the synth service, not the human service.
