Comets and Centaurs oh my
I recently decided I wanted to set something up on a comet which had been exiting the more accessible regions of the system around the time of the Fall and was on its first pass back (I'm not going to say which one, it will amuse me to see if others make similar choices). Anyway, it occurred to me that I couldn't possibly be the only person to have thought of such an environment/occurrence for an EP game, and that these might be handy charts for others: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_periodic_comets http://www.fallofathousandsuns.com/list-of-periodic-comets.html They are similar but not identical (the second one also gives approximate size for those comets which have a known size, and of course the wikipedia one has direct links to articles with specific information about individual comets). Have fun!

That's an excellent idea.

Cool.
So is your idea that it's inhabited? I'm going to go with 56P/Slaughter–Burnham, just because the name is badass. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/56P/Slaughter%E2%80%93Burnham

My idea is that if you wanted to make a difficult-to-disturb time capsule, you might put (a server, a hibernation facility, a data cache, a genebank, your pet poodle) on a piece of wandering real-estate that had a very low albedo and was on its way up and out of the inner system for a period of time. Depending on when you wanted to retrieve it, you might pick a longer or shorter orbit. A short-term gambler, looking at the rapidity of the TITAN war, might pick a hunk of rock which was coming back within range of the inner system within only a decade or so, say. Particularly if they could (if the situation was truly bad) hop to a longer-period outbound comet if things were still horrible. I do have some specifics, but I'm building an adventure around them, so I'd rather not give them just yet. :) And goodness yes, Slaughter-Burnham did tempt me. The name has such a marvelous air of 'Wait, we're deploying to WHERE?' to it...
