Now, as it stands this is write once/read in perpetuity only, but there's a high amount of storage space on each of these little discs, and they're supposed to be pretty tough. I can imagine the Backups
I can imagine the Backups using them on their seedships. Can't be "updated" but will last for eons. Seems perfect for storing Egos on a slow ship that won't have regular contact for tens of thousands of years.
