My previous self committed suicide after the corp he was working for had him arraigned on trumped up charges for leaking that memory copyright scandal. They deleted all of his copyrighted memories, and I guess, after that, there wasn't really much left. When you spend you're whole life listening to music, watching television, and consuming media, there really isn't much else.
But I guess he had set up an Alpha fork to be farcasted to Extropia, so here I am. (nervous laughter) You tell your proxy that I'm in. I guess I'd kind of forgotten that they had removed my memories of how I died, the Titans seemed like some far away fairy tale. But watching the footage from before I was re-instantiated, watching how I died.. it made me feel like maybe (and I can't believe I'm saying this) some things are more important than money.

Which corp!? If they had access you your ego, there's no telling what information they extracted. I know some memory editing services pride themselves on being thorough. They will alternate interrogation and memory editing to make sure everything is clean. The best 3rd party editing services give various assurances that the surgeons won't be able to repeat any of the proprietary memories from the interrogations (sometimes even deleting the fork who did the surgery), but sometimes they will report to the client interesting information or the editing could have been done in house. Then there are services that sell intel on the side or which have been infiltrated by outside groups. We need to investigate that.
As for your current predicament, you might have forgotten this, but Firewall should have a clean, relatively recent backup of you, even if the corp found a more public one to rifle through. You might want to revert to backup, assuming you don't have anything too important.
