Hi there,
My friends and I have recently started playing Eclipse Phase and we're loving it so far. The character creation system and setting are fantastic!
I wanted my character to be a hacker, so set about min-maxing an Infosec expert. This got me thinking about combat hacking; especially reducing the base time for an intrusion attempt so it can be feasibly performed during combat. It seems there's a lot of maths which goes into these calculations and I wanted a tool which would make these tests quick and easy to perform at the table (so as not to ruin the experience for the other other non-hacker party members!)
Ultimately I want to create this as some kind of mobile/desktop app, but in order to test my understanding of the rules and maths are correct I made a spreadsheet which allows the user to set the parameters for the hack (in the white cells) and see the required success threshold along with a graph showing the amount of action turns taken for the task action for each roll.
I've attached the spreadsheet to this post. If anyone has time to take a look at it and see if what I'm doing here is correct it'd be greatly appreciated. Also if anyone finds it useful feel free to do whatever you want with it.
