My PC in the local game is a secret Async, he keeps it concealed so he doesn't have to deal with prejudice and fear. He's tried to keep it secret from the other PC's, though at least on has a fair idea what is going on.
Recently he bought another Ego ID, a Scumbarge Uplift Neanderthal, and thus, facing prejudice against uplifts, potentially against Scum.
This idea he's pretending to be from an underclass has been made more intriguing to me after reading this recent article...

Complex issues come to mind, stuff I'm keen to explore in play. Ideas of Ego Dissonance come to mind, of identity fluidity, impostor syndrome, cross cultural acceptance, isolation, identity fraud, of social rejection [both by the group you hope to join, and the group you seek to leave], bullying and bigotry...

Or is he going to be mostly taking the prejudice side? How will that influence his own situation of actually being an Async? He might actually have some idea of how to deal with it it, and this ego being more of an ablative defense layer than truly avoiding the problems of people assuming the worst of you.

For the most part it looks like he'd be moving around Mid System - Jupiter, Belt, Mars. He's currently on the trail of a missing Async with some very interesting information and connections. He's rescued one Async, discovered another he thinks he'll have to enslave or destroy. Machine-gunned a room full of Async kids in a Black Lab run by a Ex-V corrupted Async (it was only way to be sure).
The characters motivations revolve around Sentient Rights (Uplift, AGI, Human, Alien, Animal), the truth behind the Lost Generation, and what makes an Async an Async and how it can be controlled and mastered.
This is his first false ID, and he'll be trying to use it to build up connections in the anarchist and Ecologist movements. Eventually he'll want another ID to work on his Corporate Espionage interest. He very badly wants to go through all Cognite files on the Lost.
Part of what he hopes to build is an Async studies centre, and hope it doesn't go wrong like all the corporate ones. :)
