So for those not in the know, in the system Gumshoe they have a character resource known as Preparedness. They can expend Preparedness then make a roll (I think.) And if they do well, they get whatever ad hoc dues ex machina thing they want within in reason for the GM. Like, they happen to put a spare gun under the their desk, or they have a cache of cash and gear under this bridge.
I think something like that would be great to use in Eclipse Phase. You expend a moxie and get a free thing, and roll your max moxie either times ten or times three. Not sure on which.
Thoughts?

Transhuman referenced using
Transhuman referenced using MOX as an investigative stat (to spend to get the clue, without rolling), which shows a passing familiarity with Gumshoes' philosophy.
I tend to allow folks to roll INT x 3 or COG x 3 to have thought ahead and prepared something reasonable, like having that spare gun under the desk sort of thing.
My experience running and playing is that sometimes the players have too much MOX or they have way too little, a very flood/drought situation with the stat.

Yes, using Moxie to get clues
Yes, using Moxie to get clues as described in TH was inspired by Gumshoe.
Moxie is basically there for you to hack in this way. :) Let us know how it works out.

I cant wait to get the new
I cant wait to get the new Delta Green books. I was listening to the AP that RPPR is doing with God's Teeth, and their use of Bounds for sanity sounds like the best sanity system ever. Something I think could work very well with Eclipse Phase. Their use of explicit Vignettes, which is something EP implies kinda but not as formally as Delta Green. I would love to read how to hand out clues from it too. Optional clues are what you roll for, and needed clues are based on skill level itself.
