cold air isn't really the problem i think. Certain areas of mars right now you could walk around in a t shirt and jeans if it weren't for the pressure problem. the problem is that the atmo on mars is of poor composition and thickness to provide much of a thermal blanket. this results in a lot of loss of energy during night phases.

The temperature of Mar's
The temperature of Mar's atmosphere isn't that important, as it is extremely thin. Nuking the poles to liberate the CO2 trapped in them could matter though.
