Do they have doses and durations like normal drugs, or is it a matter of me buying it once and being able to boot up my drug of choice at any given time?

The standard duration is 3 hours. It says so on p. 323 in the core rulebook (within the first paragraph on the stuff too).
That said, I don't see much reason why you couldn't hack the software so you could set the duration and have unlimited doses. Except maybe the drug cartels. The drug cartels probably don't want folks to not need them anymore, so their software should delete themselves when they have been "used up". Cops would probably want to bust anyone who could distribute an unlimited supply of drugs (unless the drug wars are over by AF 10).
