Posted by mistake, ignore
Sorry Mods. Posted this by mistake while trying to save a draft. Can you delete it? My apologies.

I don't tend to see those
I don't tend to see those arguments about changing the group's moral stance, but rather about aknowledging that not everyone in the PC falls into either slave or mustache-twirlingly evil slaver, that life on the rim isn't a bright and shiny utopia where everyone gets along, that the jovians may be acting rationally, albeit coldly so. Speaking as someone whose character lived on Luna and Mars and now finds himself on a scum ship, the base rules seem to imply I should think it marvelous, that it's better in every way from my old life and that I couldn't have possibly been happy under LLA and PC rule. And that just strikes me as an issue.

I also have a problem with the "need" to make it a world of greys, where no one has the moral high-ground.
I have a question/hypothetical about what you mean by this. In the Eclipse Phase main book, it mentions that the Barsoomian Movement commits acts of terrorism. This is tacitly acknowledged in Sunward, but since the "narrator" for that section is from the Movement (although a less militant arm), it's not dwelled upon at length. If I were, in my campaign on Mars, to copy a Wikipedia or similar entry about a historical liberation/resistance movement's list of bombings/assassinations/executing suspected traitors in horrible ways like setting fire to tires around their necks filled with gasoline and use it as a template for acts a militant branch of the Movement has or will commit, which movements would be making the Movement too "gray"?
  • South Africa's African National Congress
  • The Irish Liberation Army
  • The Basque group ETA
  • The Phillipine Moro Islamic Liberation Front
Can't it be true both that the Planetary Consortium is a plutocratic force of oppression AND that the only folks on Mars with the stones to take it on have a Maoist "can't make an omelet without breaking eggs" view of collateral damage (or are tacitly condoning such acts as a way to make the political efforts of the Movement more palatable in comparison)?

Damm, I didn't know this had actually gone through. Sorry guys, I started this as draft for an idea I had for a long post, but it appears instead of saving the draft I posted it by mistake. My bad.

hehe ya it looked a bit
hehe ya it looked a bit incomplete :P my advice never use built in draft systems on forums. they are not terribly reliable. Do your editing in your preferred flavor of Word
