Hey! Here's a fun little thought experiment I made up. Make a post that positively speaks for a faction that you don't normally identify with, even one that your against. Rules: -No pre Fall facts or quotations -No direct responses (PM the person if you must) -People can post more than once, but they must speak about a different faction each time. -The post can't be for a faction or thought you already are a part of. (I can't post about the Extropians for instance.) -NO SARCASM! The post has to be your honest thoughts about the pros of a faction. E.g. If an empire gave it's members full citizenship and allowed for freedom of worship. I could defend it because it at least had two things I believed in even if the system it used to facilitate those I didn't support. Annnnnnd go!
Your passion is power. Focus it. Your body is a tool. Hone it. Transhummanity is a pantheon. Exalt it!

The Jovians have a point.
The Jovians have a point. We in the outer systems adopt new tech as fast as we can get it. It is like a hunger, or addiction for us. The PC upper echelon are almost as bad. But look where that gets us. The Lost generation, various Scum habitats disappearing due to untested tech going boom. How many times has Firewall had to depopulate a station over an X-Threat that could have been prevented by introducing new tech more slowly and cautiously? (Why no pre fall facts SA? I could find a hell of a lot more examples... Tobacco, Fossil Fuels, Untested Geoengineering, Silicone Breast Implants)

You can't argue with exhumans
You can't argue with exhumans. Sure, in the Rim there is a lot of morphological freedom and less cognitive restrictions but every basilisk hack and exsurgent virus can still hit infect any ego it wishes. The PC and their posse are even less diverse. How can the TITANs hit us if we aren't what they thought we were? Firewall wants diversity for as many different survival vectors as possible. Exhumans offer a sliver of hope that most transhumans aren't willing to take. Maybe someday soon an exhuman will approach an intellect and mind-structure more apt to challenging the TITANs.

The Planetary Consortium
As much as I have a hard time swallowing the justifications of wealth disparity in the PC, they are still the source of a massive amount of the total production and research in the system. Their system does reward a combination of discipline and need to produce that creates baseline progress in a way that other factions have a hard time matching, and can better support mass crash programs that may be crucial to transhumanity's future. It would be hard to discipline many Autonomist groups into completing long-running and resource intensive projects, while many other transitional and old groups (the LLA, the Jovians) do not have the cutting edge needed to work on such things.
