Egocasting an Eidolon

Would an Eidolon transfer through an ego cast, or would the file be too large? One of my players wants one as his starting morph, and I want to know wether or not he is wasting CP.

I doubt that an eidolon is any larger a file than an ego. There might be a surcharge for transport (if you rule it to be especially large), but there tends not to be any restriction or fee for sending other software.

Its just data so you can send

Its just data so you can send it threw a far caster. Might be a little more expensive, but its just the same as bringing your hacking software or blueprints for your preferred gun.
