psychic stab confusion
k... Psychic Stab Psi Type: Active Action: Complex Range: Touch Duration: Instant Strain Mod: +0 Skill: Psi Assault Psychic Stab is an offensive sleight that seeks to inflict physical damage on the target’s brain and nervous system. Each successful attack inflicts 1d10 + (WIL ÷ 10, round up) damage. Increase the damage by +5 if an Excellent Success is scored. can you use a psychic stab WITH a melee attack or melee weapon?

Psychic stab is a complex
Psychic stab is a complex action, so I'd rule you can, but you suffer the penalties for making multiple attacks in a single turn.

I think Nezumi's answer
I think Nezumi's answer covers whether you could use a one-handed melee weapon and do an off-hand pyschic stab. But it sounds like you're asking whether you can use your melee weapon like a Protoss warp blade, and to that I'd say no. (Although it strikes me that aliens or exsurgents might have some kind of technology for doing this, if as a GM you wanted to introduce it). So no melee weapons, but what of an async with claws, a beak, densiplast gloves, or the like? Can they deliver a psychic stab in combination with a punch or natural weapon attack? The rules say 'no;' touch psi attacks are stated to do no damage. Personally, I think this is very open to house ruling, at least in the case of Psychic Stab. If you feel, as some do, that offensive psi is a bit nerfed, letting the touch attack also do physical damage compensates quite a bit. One other thing I noticed that we should probably fix in the 4th printing: touch psi attacks are stated to require a melee roll. I'm pretty certain we should change this to say it's an unarmed roll instead.

Sleights are mental actions. If you have a free mental action to go with your normal actions, you can use it to trigger the sleight upon impact. But I would also rule that it has to be a very close weapon. Densiplast gloves, claws (on a stab), or something of that ilk. No longer melee weapons would work. At least that's how we've always ruled it.

lol
yea cause the game needed some kind of psi reactive metal katana... it was just a point of confusion.. and yeah the eratta would fix it... guess im still wondering though why you cant punch somebody in the face and psi stab rather than lightly touch them psi stab.
