I was fleshing out the details of an adventure and eventually got to the mechanics of some hostile environment effects (EP pg 200). And it just seemed totally wrong to me what was in the books.
GRAVITY TRANSITION ZONES
A character cast adrift in the microgravity zone at the axis of a rotating space habitat will slowly drift outward until they begin to encounter gravity, at which point they will fall. How long this takes varies on the size of the habitat. A good rule of thumb is that for each kilometer of diameter possessed by the habitat, the character has 30 seconds before they begin to fall
This is not how it works. You don't encounter (artificial) gravity further out from the center and "begin to fall". Except for the negligient effects of wind you will move in the direction and speed you started out at until you hit inside surface. However, you will not be matched with the speed of the rotating surface. It will be like getting thrown off a speeding car - 1km diameter hab at 0.3g rotates at 38 m/s at the surface.
VACUUM
Biomorphs without vacuum sealing (p. 306) can spend one minute in the vacuum of space with no ill effects, provided they curl up into a ball, empty their lungs of air, and keep their eyes closed [...]
After one minute in space, the character begins to suffer from asphyxiation (p. 194). Damage is doubled if the character holds air in their lungs or is not curled up in a vacuum survival position. Additionally, characters trapped in space without adequate thermal protection suffer a –10 modifier to all actions and 2 DV per minute from the extreme cold and other factors.
This is not how it works. Vacuum empties your lungs of air and gas exchange continues in the lungs - this means that all oxygen is removed from blood as it passes the lungs. Once that deoxygenized blood hits the brain (12-14 seconds) you pass out.
Space is not really cold since there's no medium to carry heat away. You radiate some heat, but not nearly enough for it to feel cold. What you do suffer from is bloating to about double size due to gas forming in tissue. So you need a pressure suit not thermal protection.

Mea Culpa: My mode of speech can make others feel uninvited to argue or participate. This is the EXACT opposite of what I intend when I post.
