Neo-Cetacean
So, reading through the EP timeline, it mentions that dolphins were uplifted at about the same time as chimpanzees, that leaves a question of why isn't there a Neo-Cetacean morph to go along with the other uplift morphs? Was there just a design decision made to leave them out, or is there just something that I'm missing (having not read the entire setting chapter yet that's very possible).

They were intentionally left
They were intentionally left out, along with a humanoid aquamorph design we originally had in. There are so few aquatic habitats and environments that they didn't seem that important to have in the core book. Aquatic morphs and various rules relating to water environs will likely be covered in the Outer System sourcebook, where they feature in Europa and a couple of water-filled habitats.

Till the sourcebook comes out
Till the sourcebook comes out on that perhaps Reynolds could be of some inspirational assistance (this short story also has an ending you can sink your teeth into...) http://www.infinityplus.co.uk/stories/europa.htm

A little disappointed...
The Anime series Blue Submarine 6 and Mars Daybreak, as well as years of interest in using aquatic environments in RPGs translates to my hoping to see this in the main book, big time. Oh well... I suppose this might be one of the first player generated content items we see hit the net. What you all think?

Will probably be
I may actually take a look at the other uplift morphs and see about putting one together, once I figure out enough about dolphin biology to know what allowances would need to be made, with regards to implants

Few dolphins escaped Earth
Few dolphins escaped Earth during the Fall. There are two cetacean morphs mentioned in Core: the suryas (the whale-based sundiver morph used in the Solar corona) and neo-orcas (used on Europa). Suryas will be in _Sunward_. I don't know when/if official stats for neo-orcas will appear.

CF Blue Planet
It would be fairly easy to mine Blue Planet (and its sourcebook, Ancient Echoes) to obtain biological data and ideas for required implants for dolphins and aquamorphs. In fact, given that attributes in Blue Planet zero at 0 as human average, it should be fairly easy to translate the statistics presented there to the Eclipse Phase scale.

Re: Neo-Cetacean
I was thinking about Dolphins, Orcas, and Whales and I was thinking that their millions of years of evolution in an aquatic environment would make them excellent fighter, destroyer, and bulk freighter pilots. I'm new to EP so I'm very unfamiliar with the rules, but what if one of the common morphs for Cetaceans would be a space craft (ie a synthmorph). I would put dolphins in fighters, orcas in destroyers, and whales in freighters or transports. As a side note it would be funny to hear the following, "Good day passengers, I am Mushuu, the great white whale, and I will be your captain for your trip from Io to Titan..."

Sorry to resurrect an old
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I'm curious. Did the neo-cetaceans ever get an official stat-block in any of the EP books? I have not been able to find them. Cheers!

Transhuman's background for
Transhuman's background for Cetacean Uplifts references pages 142-143 in Panopticon for the Neo-Beluga, Neo-Dolphin, Neo-Orca, Neo-Porpoise, and Neo-Whale morphs. I don't have Panopticon handy to cross references this.
