The Omnifabrication Seed is an Argonaut-designed device for constructing anything from local raw materials, with no upper limit on size. Its intended purpose is to construct a complete habitat from local materials, though it is capable of far more. The device primarily consists of an AI core housing specialized AIs for various tasks, a large nuclear battery, and a protean nanoswarm hive, all encased within an outer shell. The device must be loaded with blueprints to function. After placement at a suitable site, the device releases protean swarms to fabricate construction and harvester robots suitable for various tasks, which then proceed to construct a small fission or fusion reactor, depending on local material availability. Once the reactor is complete, the device constructs additional protean hives as needed and begins construction of the rest of the habitat. The device can construct a small tin can habitat in as little as three days, and constructs larger habitats in a proportional amount of time.
