Starting Skill Rating Max of 80: Specializations?
Ok, while re-reading the Starting Morphs section of chargen, the phrasing seemed to imply that only the 'actual' skill points + ego Aptitude counts towards the 80 max. "Note that any aptitude or skill bonuses provided by the morph are applied after all CP are spent. In other words, these bonuses do not affect the costs of buying aptitude and skill points during character generation." Does this mean that a skill's "Specialization +10" can 'push' a skill that originally was at 80 (ego Aptitude+skill points) to 90? Or is that still limited to 80? There was a recent statement by Adam Jury that implants, drugs, or other sources can 'push' Aptitudes over a morphs max aptitude limit; I was wondering if there might be a similar thing with skills....

Re: Starting Skill Rating Max of 80: Specializations?
Yes. A character at creation can have an effective skill rating of 90 as long as they are using their specialized area of expertise. A specialization does not increase a characters skill rating, it provides a +10 modifier. As an example; An Isolate/Anarchist character, with a COG of 15 assigns both of their background/faction bonuses into Infosec (+20). They have an effective skill of 35. They then buy their way up to 60 (for 25CP), and then to 80 (40CP). They then buy an Infosec(Brute-Force Hacking) specialization. When Brute-Force Hacking they now have an effective skill rating of 90 (80+10 modifier). If this character was to then buy a Menton morph for their starter morph they would have an effective Infosec hacking skill of 90, and when Brute-Force Hacking of 99 (90+10 modifier, 99 limit applied).
