Quantum Storage of Photonic Entanglement in a Crystal
Just out in Nature: http://www.technologyreview.com/blog/arxiv/25718/ http://arxiv.org/abs/1009.0489 OK, the storage lasted for mere nanoseconds, but this is a long time for a photon. Qubits: I think we are getting there.

Another paper just right now: "Entanglement in a Solid State Spin Ensemble" http://arxiv.org/abs/1010.0107 They made 10^10 entangled spin pairs!

Okay, somebody reset the value of QE communication in EP. If we're going to have a QE currency, let's make sure it's *less* expensive than whatever we're paying in the real world by 2015. Seriously, this is something I love about science-fiction games. They speculate on some tech that's seen as incredibly far out there, and the next thing you know, Google or Apple is offering it as a free app on their phones. =)

Original Traveller computers had a few megabytes of memory. However, the 10^10 qubit pairs are the raw material, not the refined product needed for comms. Actually getting them out of the crystal into a QE comm device might lose 99.9999999999%
