Biopolitics of Popular Culture

Eclipse Phase co-creator Brian Cross will be speaking at the Biopolitics of Popular Culture seminar in Irvine, CA on December 4th, organized by the Institute for Ethics and Emerging Technologies. If you happen to be in the area, this event is looking to be very engaging, and the lineup of presenters is fantastic. Here's the event info:

Gencon Update Day 3

We set a new record for selling out 30 seconds.  Also we'd like you to know that selling out is overrated and we never thought we'd be had so cheaply.  Ha.  But seriously.  We're having a great time running demos and meeting all of the people who want to know more about the game.

Also some things you may or may not see in EP in the near-future.
- nanobees!
- jetpack and rocket equipped bears
- space kraken (with neotenic riders!)
- alien autopsies
- sloptopus (credit to Jaqui)
- magical ponies
- insect people
- transgenic eel pitfights
- Klouches
- obsolete European political parties (thanks Facebook, we love you)

Gencon Update

Just a reminder for those of you at Gencon.  We'll be running short demos out of the booth all day as long as the exhibitor hall is open.

Additionally we'll be running longer intro games and I'll be running one tomorrow from noon to 2.  Stop by and say hi to us either at the booth or at the demos.

Finally we will be selling 25 books per day on a first come, first served basis.  And yes, they are real.  I present book pr0n as proof.

GenCon, Interviews, and Reviews

Just a reminder for folks that we posted our schedule of Eclipse Phase events at GenCon two weeks ago. So if you're headed to GenCon, sign up for a game or stop by the Catalyst Game Labs booth (#803) for a demo! You can also just come by and ask questions or pick up some other info on the game.

If there are any podcasters or other gaming news journalists out there that want to talk to us at GenCon, be sure to get in touch.

Also, we're on the lookout for reviewers, so if you're interested in reviewing EP for a website or publication when it comes out, drop us a line.

For those of you looking for some night time activities during GenCon, I'll be spinning industrial noise at an afterparty Saturday night (I'm told my set will be midnight to 1:30am), and the same folks putting this on have events Thursday and Friday too:

Schedule of Eclipse Phase Events at Gen Con

Below is a list of Eclipse Phase games scheduled for GenCon. All games will be held in the Hyatt Regency Ball Rooms E and F.

Also, don't miss the Eclipse Phase seminar at noon on Saturday at the Marriot Indiana Ballroom E, where we'll discuss the future plans for EP, talk about the development process, and respond to any questions or feedback you have!

Finally, EP line developer Rob Boyle, aka DJ Sprite, will be spinning at an Afterparty Saturday night. Come dance to some rhythmic noise, EBM, and other electronics! @ the Ugly Monkey, 373 S Illinois St., Indianapolis. $3, doors at 10pm.

Gencon Wrapup

Thanks to everyone who stopped by the booth or sat down for a demo this past weekend.  We all had a blast getting to meet you and talk about the game to new and interested people.

The response to the game was awesome, it seemed like nearly everyone we talked to about it was excited to have a chance to play it and impressed with what we had on display.

In case you missed it the big news was the announcement that the game itself will be out early 2009 and that the partial reason for the delay is that we're been given the go-ahead to do the core book in full color.  Yes that means you'll have to wait a bit long, but it also means you'll get to see more of the EP universe in vibrant colors.

So again thanks to everyone who came out, played a game, got a t-shirt or a poster, or who just asked questions.   We hope to see more of you in the future!

The Site is Live!

Hi there!  If you're reading this then you've discovered that the site is live so allow us to officially welcome you to the online home for all things Eclipse Phase.  We're coming to you from Gencon where, if you are lucky enough to be, you'll be able to get more info about the game.  We will be running Demos at Gencon in addition to having t-shirts and posters and a few annoncements about the game.  So if you're here stop by and visit us at booth #1303/1307 the Catalyst Game Labs booth.

And even if you're not at Gencon feel free to register on the forums and start posing any questions or comments about EP you may have.

Cheers!
